(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)


Comment:

Compared to long-term average May was substandard as to the temperature and slightly above-average as to the precipitation. First storms were monitored and therefore precipitation may differ in respective localities. First hop training was finished at most of areas till 20th May and hillig was started. Based on the situation chemical protection against Peronospora was made in several regions. Health state of hops is good. In late May the average height of hop growth reached 2,5 - 3 meters. Attached photo from May 31th shows the actual typical stand of hop gardens.
