(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)

Compared to the long-term average April was subnormal as to the temperature and precipitation (the same characteristic as March). Spring works started during April. Hop cutting was finished on April 25th and wire stringing was finalized by the end of April as well. Hop plants are mainly in emergence phase, hop training started just here and there. So far the chemical protection against Peronospora has been made just in a few isolated cases. Attached photo from April 28th shows the actual typical stand of hop gardens. |
