(*)We use meteorologic data from our meteorological station in Destnice near Saaz. 30-years average (1981 – 2010) according to Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is being used as long-term average. (Up to 2016 the 1961 – 1990 average has been used.)


Comment:

To complete information the basic data of March are being quoted as well. The average temperature was 5,3 oC (long-term average 3,6 oC) and precipitation 8,2 mm (long-term average 23 mm). March was above-average as to the temperature and substandard as to the precipitation. On the contrary April was substandard as to the temperature and above-average as to the precipitation compared with the long-term average. The period of unusually high temperature came from 26th to 30th April. Kindly weather enabled smooth running of spring works.Hop cutting was finished on 25th April.By the end of April the stringing was finished at major part of hop area as well. Hop plants are in sprouting phase now. Hop training will start during first days of May. In late April the spraying against Alfalfa Snout Beetle was done here and there. Attached photos show typical stand of hop gardens on 30th April.
